Game Developer

I am a senior game designer and independent researcher specializing in the intersection of game design and cultural expression. With over a decade of experience in the game industry and 7+ years working as a designer, I have led and consulted on a wide range of projects across genres, platforms, and organizational structures.

Over the past 3 years, I’ve focused my work on gamification and cultural game research, particularly in Southeast Asia. My current work explores how culturally-rooted games are conceptualized, produced, and published, especially within non-Western contexts. I teach a popular online game appreciation course, publish regularly on game design theory, and collaborate with the Vietnam Game Developers Association (VGDA) on translating foundational game design literature. Through this combination of practical, educational, and cultural engagement, I aim to develop frameworks that support culturally meaningful game development in emerging creative ecosystems like Vietnam.
